Tesla is offering certain customers a $7,500 discount and 10,000 Supercharger credits if they take delivery of a Model 3 or Model Y by 12/31/2022. Check your text message; here is an example.
Yesterday, I posted about how the Model 3 RWD and Model Y will qualify for the full Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) $7,500 if you take delivery in January or February 2023 (of course, if Tesla runs promotions or drop prices in early 2023, there could be better savings then). This is better in several major ways:

Yesterday, I posted about how the Model 3 RWD and Model Y will qualify for the full Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) $7,500 if you take delivery in January or February 2023 (of course, if Tesla runs promotions or drop prices in early 2023, there could be better savings then). This is better in several major ways:
- Lower sales tax because this is a discount, not a tax credit
- You get the discount immediately, instead of having to wait until 2024 when you file taxes for 2023
- You get 10,000 Supercharger credits, which is valued at between $500 and $900
- If you're financing, you don't have to pay interest on the $7,500
- (For some people) If you didn't qualify for the tax credit due to being over the income limit, you don't have to worry about that at all
- 12/29/2022 UPDATE: IRS published its list [irs.gov], and some vehicles will not qualify for the tax credit that starts in 2023; of note, Model Y 5-Seat does not qualify because it passes the $55,000 limit, whereas the Model Y 7-Seat does qualify because it is below the $80,000 limit.
- 01/04/2022 UPDATE: The 10,000 Supercharger miles (which is actually 4,000 kWH) have been added to the Tesla App. Check Settings > Loot Box.

And you're talking about going to a car enthusiast website to find checklists for other vehicles. Enthusiasts, okay. That makes sense. After all, that's what an ENTHUSIAST would do. But not your average person. Now with the Tesla it seems the average person does have to go through a checklist due to the myriad of issues you can encounter. All this for a supposed luxury car? lol
I google 'Toyota Tundra checklist' and the responses are for the maintenance schedule.
Then I google Tesla checklist and there are COUNTLESS hits on what to look for when you have a Tesla delivered, due to the number of issues you can encounter. Completely different.
If Tesla had all the issues you describe, then why do I see tons of garages with multiple Teslas. And friends who are on their 3rd or 4th Tesla? There are other EVs out there.
If you don't like Tesla, then don't buy one. If Musk bothers you, then don't buy one...although I hope that you do you're homework on every other CEO and business owner.
It's just a car, for goodness sake.

I don't see any Y or 3 in stock within 200 miles of Dallas, YMMV.
Looks like the window is closing fast on this one...
I'm currently waiting (48 hours now) for my finalized trade-in offer from Tesla. The range they gave me was low, but almost identical to Carmax.
'if you have a source' - TeslaMotorsClub, reddit et al. you have the sources as you're continuously engaged in this sky is falling 'do your own research' hyperbole & FUD. It's comical really.
'how do you know when you bought your Bimmer' - because I was actively engaged in bimmerfest & other places before meeting the legend Jon Schafer for pickup.
It and esp the Jeep had some things going on (as mentioned) but Tesla buyers out here with rulers & flashlights between panels on delivery (like that's normal new car buying behavior); weirder still emotionally invested people like you that seemingly don't even own (or wish to own) the vehicle yet have such a devout interest & time to accomplish nothing really. I see 10x Teslas on the road as 3 years ago, clearly YoURE NoT TyPinG FaST EnOuGH!

This YouTube video chat changed my mind . The new Model Y should be $30K with all the stuff they removed.
Heck doesn't even have the parking sensors!!! Every cheap car has those now.
