Looks to be a solid deal, especially if you missed out on the Samsung 27" 4K last week. Tougher sell at $450, but for $200 it's a great choice for productivity and multimedia work.

I'm leaning towards the LG. Brightness and contrast specs are higher, meeting the VESA DisplayHDR 400 guidelines. The base of the Samsung is more traditional and has some cable management loop on the back, but that's not a big concern for me.

Reviews seem a bit scary, maybe worth the extended warranty

This is a decent price if you're using it as a office monitor for productivity tasks.

This LG or this Samsung?

The LG has better brightness, vesa mounting options, and in my experience, is likely more color accurate. And it costs less. I say get the LG all day.

1) it is a check mark feature
2) likely included in the hardware they are using regardless
3) Helps those with lowend hardware
4) Not a bad boon for those who focus on not fps games.

Yes it would be nice if it was a 120 hz display, but then it would be costly.

If your gaming at 4k and your frames drop from 60 to 20 or anywhere in between it won't be as jarring with vrr. So basically no screen tearing just slight jutters. If you drop to 40-50 for a few seconds it will look smooth compared to a non vrr.

For anyone else wondering this price range for 120+hz is going to be a 1440p. Depending on system and games you maybe looking at 4k60 or 1080p/1440p120 anyways.

I totally agree I think VRR is a nice feature, even on 60hz monitors.
