I used to sell massage chair when I was college. My info could be a little bit dated.

In massage chair world, Japanese massage chairs from Japanese are considered the best. Inada and Fujiiryoki are the top premium brands, but they can run small for big people.

Panasonic also made some pretty high quality chairs, which tend to be less pointy on lower back, which can be more preferable for many new. Panasonic would be the best one for bigger people.

Then there are brands like Osaki and OSIM which largely are made in China. Their quality has improved very rapidly. OSIM is priced like premium. These brands also sometimes rebranded premium chairs from Japan.

The best massage chair are the one that fit your need with the right price point.

More expensive chair has servo to adjust how much the massage body sticking out, it is good for deep massage. "Human touch" often is referred to that kind of setup where the massage ball has more degree of movements.

Next one use rollers, 4 points of contact and spring loaded to fit your back, they are pretty effective and good for people who doesn't like/deep massage.

The lowest end one to avoid would be the massage ball on spinning disc type or the one just vibrates.

Massage chairs doesn't handle legs well. So get a foam rollers for that.
All the air inflatable on high end chair are good but not great and sometimes feel too tight so keep your expectations in line.

A decent neck massager and a foam roller can do more with less if you are on a tight budget of money and space.

For $200 more you can get a 3D one - https://www.target.com/p/3d-prest...A-82528700

Don't be fooled by the discount though, if you do a price history on it the current price was the same price it was back in August, these retailers bump up the price way high for a week or two then drop it so it looks like a big sudden discount but it's not really.

Massage chair experts - is this a better deal?

https://www.nfm.com/osaki-ador-3d...99666.html

Really eying it because I like the design and it's 3D but I have no clue. Pricing seems all over the place. And not sure which are reliable brands.

Can find a review that pretty much says every single chair on the market is the best. As if paid sponsor.

I would recommend buying an Infinity Massage Chair. I absolutely love mine. Ive had it 4-5 years. Just ordered my business partner a new Infinity 3D chair. Ordered it from the same place emassage chair dot com Mine was brand new, his is certified pre-owned. I was impressed by the shape of his chair (he just got it last week) It looks brand new, came with a 5 year limited warranty. Delivery was quick & easy as was mine when I purchased 4-5 years ago.

How do you check price history
If you install the Honey App extension to the browser a little pop up box will appear and in the middle of it it will say "price trend over time" and directly to the right of that it will say "see price history", if you click on that it will take you to a new page with a 30-day lookback period on the price (you have to scroll down just a bit to see it), if you click on the drop down menu which is defaulted to 30-days it will give you an option of looking back 120 days. I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but I always double check that real quick on any supposed big discount because it will show you whether or not it's a "real discount".

Is there any place you can try these things before buying? Or what's the return policy like?

Same. It's hard to know which ones are crap and which ones are good, and there's a huge difference in price.
