Yes they are. Just put the plastic in very hot water and you can pull it off with a little hand strength. Then dry completely, refill and push it back on.

Coarse salt goes much better for things like baked potatoes where you want the burst of saltiness. However just about any dollar tree will have various grinders for $1.25 each. I know they have sea salt, himalayan salt and black pepper.
