YMMV and depends on how good your local dealer is willing to work with you. The response I have from mine is to wait till Jan 1 to get a quote and the OTD. Some of the rebates mentioned in the link are valid till Jan 3. So the above price is achievable if you take delivery between Jan 1 and Jan 3. Please post any responses that you receive from your local dealers here. At 18k this is a screaming deal. Hope folks are able to pull this off.

Depending on your use case 120V charging is plenty. We have a 2017 Bolt and still get by fine on 120. It's my wife's car, gets maybe 15 miles of usage a day and she plugs it in every few days to top it off.
Yes but the other guy was complaining about slow charging with no attempt to fix the issue. The problem isn't comparing yours to his. It works out for your family so there's no reason to.

You must have been charging off a standard 120 volt outlet. No electric vehicle is going to charge fast on the limitations of a standard 120 volt outlet.

A standard 240 volt home charger should do about 26 miles per hour of charge. You can get faster 80 amp chargers as well.

I don't have a Bolt, but these numbers are straight from Chevy.
Agreed, but, I lived for 3 years with 120v charging on a 100 kwh Tesla model x.

Eventually caved in to installing a faster charger at home. But bottom line is, it's surviable but definitely not ideal.

Yep I had a 2018 and it only charged that slow if you plugged it into a regular outlet. L2 charger only took an hour or two for full charge for me. I also did not have any battery issues. It was a great car. Had it for 3 years

Just to clarify about the credit, since there seem to be a lot of confusion:

This is not a question if you normally have a refund or not. It's a question of tax owed before your withholding/payments/other credits are applied.

Example: You make 80k a year, your employer withholds 10k in federal tax and you get a 2.5k refund. Your tax liability was 7.5k and you will receive a credit against that (and a refund of 7.5k).

It sucks they didn't implement Rollover of Tax Credits to next year's taxes like they do for the Solar Tax Credit. This still pretty much benefits people making which I believe is $60k+ or $70k+ since that's about the amount you'd need to make for full tax liability of EV tax credit. If the roll over of credit was implemented this making certain Income amount wouldn't matter a whole lot.

Anyways if you wait until 2024 the tax credit will be taken out at the Point of Sale which many people prefer.

Yes, unfortunately there are income caps. Would rather have the Lexus RX Hybrid.

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/15/the-7500-electric-vehicle-tax-credits-full-value-may-be-hard-to-get.... [cnbc.com]
It's kind of pointless comparing.. it's almost a waste. the RX gets relatively horrible miles per fuel cost.. 31/28 city highway..

meanwhile EV's will get at least 120 EMPG That's like paying 4 times the price of gas by driving a gas vehicle when you can drive electric for 1/4 the cost..

it might be even better/worse than that.. depending on what you pay for electricity. I wish my volt had 100 mile range but oh well.. I got it dirt cheap.

I had an EUV Premier. Great city car, awful bad weather car. Lots of features, but feels a bit like an econocar. Good acceleration, meh handling. Easy to spin front tires (fwd). Surprisingly spacious, but trunk is tiny. Need to fold down seats for a Costco run or even big supermarket.

Charging is fine at 240. At DC chargers took about 40 minutes to charge 100 miles.

LOL at Model X owner who wouldn't install 240V home charger.

And so what? Who cares what anybody else thinks? If you're keeping up with the Joneses or caring about someone else's opinion, you're adulting wrong. I want to retire as early as possible with the most amount of money possible invested in the right areas, so given our income,
Tesla Y-priced vehicles will never be in our financial plan unless we win the lottery big time!

So we should blame the government for trying to give breaks to individuals and encourage EV adoption and not the corporations who are raising their prices for no reason other than to take that money? Makes a lot of sense…
Corporations exist to make money. That's literally their purpose.

I might be repeating what many have said but keep in mind the 7,500 is not a rebate nor is it money in your pocket per se. It's a tax credit that offsets your tax liability. Practically speaking, if your tax liability is 3k when you file taxes, 3k of the 7.5k will be used to offset it. You don't get the remaining 4.5k in your coffers.
