I'm not impressed with the quality of McCormick cumin (or other spices). And pay attention to the country the spice comes from - If packaging doesn't specify the country of origin, I'd assume China. McCormick is sourcing a lot of spices from China these days. (Target & Walmart are, too.) When it comes to food, I don't want it sourced from China.

I'm really unimpressed with McCormick chili powder as well.

I don't think I need that much, even if I use it weekly.

This is a must have for Indian cuisines or any lamb or goat dish.

Which are all so much better with fresh ground, it isn't even funny. Instant Pot and homemade garam masala and freshly ground whole spices are a revelation.

If you live in the a part of the country that has Winco, their bulk spice section is sooo much cheaper than buying bottles of spices off the shelf.

I agree with you about food products out of China. I did check the questions on the Amazon product page and someone asked that very question. The answer given was that McCormick cumin was sourced out of India. I don't know if that's better or not, or if there's another option. I don't use a whole lot of cumin except a little in BBQ rubs and a tiny bit in Chilli recipes if I haven't gotten lazy and bought a spice kit ๐Ÿ˜
