I'm a longtime Nova Launcher Prime patron, and still use it on my S22 Ultra. They were acquired by the analytics company Branch earlier this year. Just wondering how much development will go into product improvement going forward and how much data they intend to collect about their users.

Dont buy this, its a trap. Nova sold to an analytics company. They want to data harvest you, launchers are very valuable and get a ton of info from you.
Use something like Pear Launcher instead that doesnt spy on you.
ALWAYS read up on app permissions and privacy policies before you install.

From searching SD, it looks like this has gone on sale for $1 every year in December.

Now, after being acquired by a data analytics company, it goes on sale for 50 cents.

Kinda makes a fella wonder.

I'd be curious to know what kind of data they have access to as a launcher. I tried searching at some point but couldn't find any good write ups.

I'll add that the nova 7 redesign from a year or two ago fundamentally changed the way the app worked and removed key functionality many of us had used for many years (specifically making it so TeslaUnread no longer worked). The main feature I liked about Nova was the ability to add notification number counters to app icons instead of just a red dot.
Nova doesn't need to install additional to make the unread count. It has built in and working flawlessly on my Fold 3 and Pixel 7 Pro. I don't think you have really tried the latest version.

If a launcher wants to collect info from me, then by allean go for it. Facebook, Google, your email app on the phones and even this Slickdeals have been tracking all my info. I am not saying it's the right way of doing it but at this point, I am not really concerned about what apps I use or what widgets I have on my phone.

I've been using this for 5+ years and I love it. Lots of customization, much better UI, and lots of overall good stuff.

Was my go-to for many years but switched to Niagara launcher and will never go back. It has loads of customizability and much more sleek.
Have been using Nova for so long I honestly can't remember the biggest reasons why I stick with it. It's just second nature now. Will look into Niagara

I have it and have never used and probably never will now. Also, I'm not sure I need a third party launcher as I'm not doing anything that default Samsung launcher can't do. May be I'm just not sure what I'm missing.

I started using Nova Launcher when I first got my Galaxy S4, and it's been on all three of my new phones since then. I paid full price and it was still worth every penny.

They added this functionality into the app, so you didn't need the other app. Just go to settings/Notification Badges/Choose Style and select Numeric Dots

I'd purchased this some years ago and just installed it on my Pixel 7 Pro specifically for the number badges. Can you recommend another launcher that has them?
Nova has Numeric Badges built in. See my last reply.

I never needed this app when I was running Samsung phones.
Once I switched to Pixel 7, turns out, "stock android" sucks, and found a use for this.

Yup, I'm looking for an alternative. Need to run on fire tablets.
