They've patched it a ton since then, and it's much more playable now.
The graphics are beautiful: classic fairy tale/ children's book graphics.
The battle system is turn-based with a time bending mechanic that allows you to send enemies into the past or future and then mess with them there.
It's an incredible story about forgiveness and sacrifice, and the characters are well-written.
At 7.99 it's totally worth giving it a shot.
Makes me sad to have to recommend avoiding the Switch version because it's such an ideal platform for it.
Isn't that also the case for PS version? Does the PC version also have horrendous load times? I tried to play it on my PS5 and the load times were still atrocious...
I'm sure it's a great game and I want to actually play it but can't bring myself to play a game that makes me spend 50% of the play time staring at a blank load screen.
