$100 is good, but I really miss the regular $65-$70 specials we used to see.
I've had 3 pair and just be aware that the lugs are very soft and grippy, so they'll wear down fast on pavement. I try to stick to trails specifically, then when they wear out, they become great yardwork or water shoes.

Are you completely committed to Altra shoes or do you rotate the Lone peaks with other brands of trail shoes?
I'm running in the Caldera 6 and enjoying the ride. These shoes are like fat tire tanks. No shoe has worked better for my needs which consist of packed fire roads and canal berm trails.
The Altra shoes that I have tried several years ago never worked out for me. I don't see a point in a zero drop on a shod shoe like the Peak.
The runners at the Let's Run forum have disdain for Altra. The general consensus among runners is that the minimalist fad of a decade has long ago fizzled out but a few "weirdos" still show up on the trail wearing Altras . I share this view minus the weirdos part. Been there, done that. I'm slower in zero drop shoes and more prone to suffering a soft tissue injury or metatarsal edema.
I wonder how much market share Altra and Topo have? Altra was most popular around 2012 which is the year HOKA was established. Shortly thereafter consumers threw the towel in on zero drop. HOKA has now climbed from obscurity to 2nd place behind Brooks for market share in the running speciality footwear market as of 2021 year end.
The next trail shoe I try will be either a Fuji Lite, Xodus Ultra, or reluctantly a Speedgoat. The often prominent arches in HOKA shoes irritate my feet.
For the road I enjoy using EvoRide. Asics has turned over a new leaf with their Guidesole line of models. These newer shoes have reinvigorated the brand. They have lower drops, curved forefoot rockers, and generally broad stable platforms. This design reduces ankle flexion and the impact on the Achilles. Am Altra shoe puts too much demand on the Achilles and reduces turnover efficiency.
So keep an eye on Dicks. They selectively put certain models on sale at various times and offer special discounts for text message signups and 1st time in-app purchases. You can game if by generating additional phone numbers with Google Voice to get their standard $20 off $100 coupon code.
