Christmas decor has been on clearance for a while though. I bought a tree like 2 weeks ago for 25% off.

At Walmart today, everything still at 50% with a good amount left.

At Lowe's today, nothing left but a couple of cases of clear string lights, and a few black Santas. I was there on the 18th and they had a LOT left but it was not discounted much. I guess I should have waited until the 19th.

Was at Target on 12/23, and they were wiped out of just about everything except crappy wrapping paper.

On the positive side, there were a lot of good Halloween and Christmas deals before the respective holidays, which does not happen too often.

You can check my BS link for the tealights - when BS shows 75% off, then it means that all Christmas stuff went 75% off. WM has been pretty consistent over the years with their after Christmas clearance schedule. After a week of 50%, prices go down to 75% off (perhaps this Saturday?) for another week, and then finally 90% off for whatever is left.

This year was slightly different: prices of decorations were about 30% higher than last year and a "clearance" of 25% off started one week before Christmas Day.

My experience yesterday: Walmart will make deals. Find a "team lead" working the Christmas area (there were two busy working there in my store). I got a $300+ tree for $30 just by asking.

Yeah, 2 of the 3 local ones here still have tons of inventory, talked to the one area supervisor at the one store and she said they were told they wanted to try to get rid of more at the 50% off price before marking it down further and stuff wasn't moving like it has at 50% in previous years.

Thanks. I ventured to my local Walmart and it was 50 as well. Aisles of stuff.

Fwiw I saw dozens of 10 cent Halloween pumpkin scented soft soap in the clearance isle.
