I know they're different products, but is there much of a functional difference between this 6-port charger and the dual chemistry supercharger that's been around for a while?

If I'm too lazy to take batteries out once they're finished, is the charging hardware smart enough to not damage the batteries if I just leave them in their ports until I need a fresh one?

Ive had the super charger for about 3 yrs now. I really think using the super charger compared to the chargers you get with the ryobi tool is ALOT better. I have had the same batteries for 3 yrs now and still going strong from pretty heavy use and they are all charged on the super charger.

With that said I noticed this charger looks differnt than mine and I dont see anywhere in the description where it reads "super"
If it is the same charger I highly recomend it!!

I don't see an advantage of this 6 battery charger over a regular Ryobi charger. This charger only charges one battery at a time, does not maintain batteries left in the charger, and Ryobi recommends against leaving batteries in this charger after charging is complete.
