I got a notification from SD two days ago and avoided clicking on it since it said starting on the 28th.
When I clicked on the notification today, the thread was for Mortal Shell and not AC.
Just curious if I missed it or if a different game was offered instead.
All the comments here are about Death Stranding, so this is not helping my confusion lol
Everyone is given tiny boxes, you see some coworkers open them up and it's a set of car keys. When you open the box, it's instead a single hot wheels car.

Epic showed DC version for free, some people claimed it and were given it for free. A few others had it in their carts, but loading issues prevented final purchase.

There are complaints where you can argue that free doesn't matter, such as OW2 putting new characters behind a paywall. Sure, you can earn it in 45 levels of battlepass, but you could also get destroyed by the people who paid for the character on day one if that character happens to be OP, which is what most new characters tend to be.
Completely agree. That said, there's a bright side, the developers definitely get paid for these "free" games, epic just foots the bill. They've (epic) spent hundreds of millions of dollars giving away these free games, so at least the developers are still getting money.
