This looks to be a good price for this system with these specs (i.e., touchscreen/i7-1280P/16GB/1TB).

This seems like a pretty good deal. I think heating issues are a big issue for this laptop though.

I had this laptop twice. The specs are great. No problem with heat. But weird issues that caused me to return. Perhaps if a fresh windows is installed, without all that MSI built in, it would be a great great laptop.

Wait, the Prestige 14 with 32GB RAM like Suryasis said is the same price at $799.97. Why not get that?

While not upgradeable, doesn't soldered RAM provide better performance at lower power?

I recently bought the HP Envy x360 on Thanksgiving week, and hated the fact that Win 11 forces you to make a Microsoft account to even set up the computer. Installed Win 10 on it and basic drivers from the Support (for Win 11 since none were available for Win 10), and it's been working fine over the past 2 weeks. Didn't need a key either (guessing the original Win 11 key works for Win 10?).

This comes with a touch display, active stylus, and is a 2-in-1 for those who would prefer these features.

No need to create MS account to install Win11. Search the net for instruction. Win11 is stable now, and better for new laptop.

Looks like all these intel 12th gen i7's have heating issues. Bought LG gram 14 from costco, same issue, still contemplating whether to keep it or return. People even complained with XPS. Someone commented that it's intel 12th gen issues, not sure Ryzen 7 is any better, I bought lenovo thinkbook 13s gen 4 with ryzen 7 6800u (21AS001AUS), same heating issue, did not test it enough though, returned it, as keyboard was dead on arrival...

The previous one we bought from Costco was about 1K

Gorgeous! But.... Without gaming it got extremely hot. Running apps after 30 minutes, the laptop got too hot to touch to the point of burning

I have no idea if they have fixed this issue on this model. Specs and price are good but I am leery of this issue.

are you running in performance mode? or does it run really hot no matter what even on battery saving?
