Saw it at my local Costco. Hesitant to pull the trigger. Would this handle VR quite well? Need something for my soon to be teenager that is playing Roblox now, but need something "future proof".
I'm wondering if this would be easier to swap out the psu if needed than the Dell. That dell psu is 450w and is custom for the case. Hoping this uses a standard psu size.
I like this one better, but no denying the Dell has a slightly better card.
I bought this from Best Buy at 849.99 and I love it.. great machine.. I runs my 21:9 Ultrawide 1440p 144hz monitor with games really well.. Surprised at what you can do with the regular 3060.. Doubt you can find a prebuilt with 12th gen i7 + 3060 for less than 799 right now. Unfortunately out of stock at all my locations.

How's the cooling on it? I'm trying to find something for my buddy that will end up running it completely stock, so I'd like to suggest something that won't need tweaking.

Cooling definitely isn't the best but adequate for a CPU you aren't overclocking. Not a lot of options for additional fans. I spent some time playing around with different configurations and found that removing the mechanical drive (no need), and placing my SSDs in that location worked pretty well. I also removed the expansion bay from over top of the CPU to try to provide more airflow. CPU temps low 70s, GPU temps mid 40s during gaming for me.

Stock cooler can't really keep up with a Cinebench R23 load (even 1 run) with the 12700.. it throttles back due to temps and the BIOS also is programmed to throttle back too it seems.. even if I manually set TDP with throttlestop.. but it's still "Fast" around a 19000+ score. I just leave the wattage at 65 watts and leave the CPU alone.. runs cool at this point and still fast. I do wonder if we can upgrade to 13th gen on this motherboard though, that would be nice. I can't figure out what chipset the board uses.
Just snatched the last unit from my local Costco for $700. Will need to play around with to figure out if it's a keeper. Any suggestions for BIOS settings?

Was it listed at $700? Or did you have to talk to a manager to get that price?

No, 799, but it was the last one on display. Was never never hooked up to anything so just missing the box. I asked them to give me an extra discount since it was missing the box and they gave me an extra 100 off.

Well, returned my unit due to the limitations of this form factor and motherboard. Built a Core i5 12600k with an Asus motherboard from the Microcenter deal, and even without overclocking the stock Cinebench score on this setup is about 17000 compared to 13400 on the i7 12700 on the Lenovo, so the CPU is definitely handicapped here and IMHO is a waste of a core i7.
