Seems easy enough to take apart. Replace the original clock face with something more stylish! I printed myself a budget Mondaine clock like that. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787X3R6Q

I used some of the kids construction paper for the hands and glued to the existing.

Now writing this, in hindsight, not the best use of my time, but it was a fun project!
