Quality was really good... I would say looked mint in brown box, minus any paper manual. Came with all accessories. Had 15.3 firmware on it. Did a reset, paired and upgraded to 16.2 firmware.
I used to have a mix of Google and Alexa minis across my house. Those were cheap and particularly, Google was much smarter in terms of having a conversation, plus many 3rd party integration. But I really value my privacy. Now, I have HomePod everywhere. Plus the audio quality is much better with HomePod.
In case someone is interested .... my use cases with smart speaker -- (1) Some question/answer form of conversations here and there. I acknowledge Siri is not that good sometime, particularly if the question is complicated, (2) Some automations (directly or through HomeBridge), (3) Some music, (4) Some intercom, white noise, etc.
