The only thing I hated about the game was the flow of the story. I watched a reorganized story edit on youtube and made the entire story so much better.

Does the digital version get the same upgrades if played on the PS5? The game looks so good in 60fps it feels like a native PS5 title.

It's not even worth going down the rabbit hole as 99% of the criticisms are the dumbest things I've ever read about a video game (and I've been playing games way longer than the haters have been alive). Do yourself a favor and make up your own opinion without reading anything about it first (and for spoilers obviously).
