This card is not a good value for the performance. The more expensive 7900 XTX has a better cost per frame ratio. Unless you're desperate for a gpu, just wait for better availability of a 7900 XTX or splurge on a 4090 (there are ways to get one at retail prices, just have to try hard).

or just stick with 1080p gaming, and get a true value card like 6600. 4k gaming is just more pixels and honestly isnt worth it right now. ill upgrade in a couple years at less than half current prices.

I suspect this GPU settles in the $700-800 range next year to present a better option for 4k gamers. While it's currently not an amazing deal, the upside is that this card being available at $880 should make nearly all of the high-end last gen cards obsolete to anyone who has gone through some benchmarks: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-s...0-xt.c3912

It's 1% faster than the RTX 3090 Ti ($1200+) and 9% faster than the RX 6950 XT ($800+). It's also a 300w card vs 450w for the RTX 3090 Ti. Since it's new and seems to have been rushed a bit, I'd also expect additional gains from driver updates compared to previous gen.

Not sold by Amazon. Just FYI. Agree, I would wait for 4070 Ti and see how the prices change. AMD 7900 cards and RTX 4080 may come down a bit

Best price yet.

Hopefully the first price drop of many for both AMD and Nvidia.

Scalpers are selling their 4090s for retail now and 4080's are on shelves in every Best buy I have visited.

Might be a good deal, I have heard there are problems with many of the XTX cards reaching 110C on a certain spot due to poor cooler design. Not sure if these cards use the exact same cooler though.

The XTX is having serious overheating problems that have been acknowledged by AMD — see tomshardware for latest report

I'd hold off. The 7900 XT is a little over priced, and should be closer to $800--it didn't sell out on launch day and is available basically everywhere at MSRP. Add in the fact that the 4070 ti is coming out with a rumored price of $800, and rushing to get a 7900 XT now seems like a bad idea.

Edit: Also the MSRP for the 7900 XT is $900, not $1000 like the Amazon listing is showing, so it's really only $20 off , which is about a 2.2% savings.

So is it a safe assumption to say that production of 6xxx series cards is over? 6800 XT's seem to have gone extinct. Hopefully AMD will knock it out of the park with the price / performance ratio on the 7800 XT and 7700 XT cards.

You didn't score anything special. They're sitting on the shelves everywhere because the MSRP is a horrible price and most people know it by now.

HOLD THE LIME, people!

(even though I admittedly didn't with my 6700XT for $350!, Lulz)
