I look forward to the bag sale every year to pick up clearance Christmas stuff as well as things that never go on sale like oscillating tool blades, electrical tools and wire just to name a few things.

I forgot one last weird thing is the online pickup is in the far back opposite corner of the store.
It's weird because I feel like if they fixed some of that it stuff it wouldn't be bad. They do offer a wide selection of products.

All true, and even a dozen eggs and a gallon of milk.
I just wish they would open some stores west of the Rockies.

I think Menards totally serves a purpose, and I do shop there, but there are limitations on closer to premium quality products.

I also find their lighting selection to be much better than both Lowes and HD.

Menards used to do cash rebates years ago, but figured out that people were abusing their free after rebate items to resell. I knew someone who had thousands of dollars in free merchandise from this trick, so Menards nixed cash rebates in favor of store credit because it prevented them from losing money while allowing them to keep offering the free after rebate items.

The reason that the 11% is so popular though is due to business / commercial buyers. For example, through your business you end up buying $100,000 in supplies and building materials etc, you end up getting $11,000 back in Menards store credit that you can now use for whatever you want and doesn't show up on any tax forms. So now you got new hardwood floors in the house and some new big tool boxes in the garage.
This pulls commercial sales away from some of the other big stores even if the prices are slightly cheaper.

I got some Gearwrench wrenches there on clearance that are okay. But yeah, a lot of what they offer is definitely HF-grade but at worse prices.
