I've never heard anyone say the plot of bad - without getting into spoilers, the stuff in the middle of the game (where you learn about Zero Dawn) was one of the best told stories. The world and lore is fantastic all around, this one and the sequel were both nominated for GOTY so that criticism seems a little dry/cliche.

Lol at these two comments. These guys have clearly been fooled by Sylens. The plot is definitely thin on details if all you do is hunt the machines, never interact with any characters and never do anything except for the main missions.

However, there is enough lore, text and audio to fill an entire TV series worth of plot and drama. Seriously, if they ever made this into a movie then it would have to be at least two films.

This is one of the best games made in the last 20 years and has the awards to show for it.

Great. I'm 30 hours in and haven't gotten to the "middle" yet. I did beat all the hunting trials for the free purple bow...
Great game from someone who used to game but hasn't in a while.
