The reviews are pretty decent especially if you're a novice rider. Might be worth the investment. It was $229 for Black Friday last year. And according to the reviews it is magnetic.

Got this with the Christmas sales which means I paid ~$50 more. Aggravating. That said, it works well for me. I'm over 6' and fit on it fine. Variable magnetic resistance works fine. I put a fire HD 8 (with play store added) on the holder to act as a 'permanent' screen that bluetooths to the bike for stats and also syncs with Google fit (iOS device will sync to apple). Honestly no complaints from me but I've only been on it a few hours.
