The Apple 10.2" iPad features the Retina display with a 2160 x 1620 resolution for crisp details and vivid colors, making it an ideal companion for watching movies, creating content, and much more. The Retina Display also has True Tone technology, which adjusts the display to the color temperature of the room so it's more comfortable for viewing in any light. Apple upgraded the front camera to a 12MP Ultra-Wide camera. In addition to a huge boost in image quality and a wider 122° field of view, the iPad also features Center Stage. Center Stage automatically pans the camera to keep them in view. This is especially useful when other people join in because the camera detects them and smoothly zooms out to include them. Center Stage shines during video calls and it makes them feel more natural. It works in FaceTime, but also in other third-party video-calling apps. The A13 Bionic chip is more powerful than its predecessor, the A12 Bionic chip, and supports Neural Engine machine learning. Moreover, its Smart Connector offers Smart Keyboard support for comfortable typing, while its display is compatible with the 1st gen Apple Pencil, so users can write and draw. It's equipped with Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.2, a Lightning connector, and a 3.5mm audio jack. This iPad is rated for up to 10 hours of use to keep you going throughout the day.

It's a great tablet by the way, it replaced my kids Air 2s.
Great for long term storage without erasing to make room. A13 Bionic chip on iPadOS 16 is still relevant and fast in 2023. 2 years old with predictably 3-5 years of support.
Also, for some, this beat paying for iCloud subscription anyways especially on 64GB of storage iPad variant,
Gone are the days where iPad Air 4 that is far superior in terms of specs could be had for $349 despite 64GB of storage.
Gone are the days where iPad 9th gen 64GB could be had for $250 ish. Obviously the best value for basic consumption. We don't know if that deal will go lower again. Worth waiting? Depends on who is being asked.
Now we have the 10th iPad going for $399.99-449.99 and that is a hot mess for the $$$ compared to this one.
Then we also have iPad mini 6 64GB going for $399,99-499.99 but that's too small for productivity and basic media consumption for some folks despite specs being better with 2nd gen Apple Pencil and some are too dang anal about jellyscroll and I don't blame them.
I won't mention air 5 with M1 chip or higher variant. Complete overkill.

Don't forget folks, tablet is not a direct laptop replacement.

There is practically zero reason (apart from their greed) that this tablet could not include expandable storage for apps and media. They are, so far as I know, the only tablet manufacturer who does this. And then they continue to build their base model with a truly anemic 64 GB of storage. The result is that they are able to charge $130 extra over their 64 GB model to accomplish something that you can generally do for $30 (roughly the cost of a 256 micro SD card) on any other tablet. And then multiple people are raving about what a great deal this is. Apple is making a very intentional design choice for the purpose of financially exploiting its users. What a wonderful company.
I bought a 64 GB iPad Air model over Black Friday, but then promptly flipped it on eBay when I realized how quickly my storage had been eaten up.
I switched to a Galaxy S8, and I think I prefer it. The multitasking in Android 13 is more refined than Center Stage, and the included S Pen is much better integrated that Apple's $100 add-on pencil. My only gripe is that there's no magic keyboard equivalent -- that was a great engineering feat.
I realize that the same complaint could be raised about smart phones, except enough people bought into the Apple-led ploy that non-expandable storage has become standard. I hope that enough people abstain in the tablet realm, such that SD card slots persist.
