I had a similar experience years ago. I sent a 707 in multiple times and for some reason getting a decently symmetric grind on the edge was impossible, and the action was still out of tolerance as well. I returned it.
Their prices are going up, material quality is stagnant or going down (they want $300 for a plastic handled OTF and over $500 for the same D2 infidel from a decade ago), and quality control is heavily lacking. They're profiting off of their name at this point, and I refuse to buy their knives until they get back to basics.
FROM $125? Kind of a joke. Very inconsistent compared to the old days. Got a nicer model and the action was gummed up bad upon delivery. Sent it in under warranty repair, and thought, oh I'll get it laser engraved while I am sending it in. Paid for that, they sent it back not repaired, no engraving. I sent it in again, they sent back somewhat repaired, and still no engraving even after I pointed it out.

As a big fan of both the PM2 and the 940, you can't go wrong with either. I lean towards the 940 only for the smaller foot print and spyderco g10 definitely wears on my pockets over time
I am leaning towards the 945 mini honestly as i think the 940 blade is a tad too large.
That's the one with a g10 handle, but I somehow missed it. Blade HQ or knife center had their jade green g10 for a similar price a while back too. I was waiting for the original anodized aluminum handle
Here's my obligatory reminder that Benchmade helped police destroy firearms some years back. That's for those of us that concern ourselves with those facts.
It's weird how many quickly forgot about that. The backpedaling didn't change my mind though.
I've skinned and processed probably 200 deer, thousands of fish, camped, hiked the AT etc. in my life and never spent more than $20 on a knife and these are knives that lasted many years. I just can't get my head around a knife that's $150 being a front page deal....
180 for the carbon fiber and S90V Bugout is kind of brazy. S90V is a great steel. Yeah it's annoying to sharpen but you're only doing it once or twice a year.
Yup and I'm betting you're only cutting cardboard once or twice a year. That's the problem with people buying $100+ knives, you're afraid to use them.
