As someone who has owned both, the dyson doesn't even come close to the performance of this shark corded model. You also don't have to deal with battery degradation. I have 2 dyson batteries that weren't even used for a year and they will only hold a few minutes worth of run time in a charge.

Corded is lighter due to no battery and more powerful and smaller motor.

Best vaccum I have ever purchased for the home!!! Easy to use, plenty of power, no charging, lightweight and easy to clean an maintain. We got ours on Amazon, think we paid around $150.

Only negative thing is... it comes with a hanger and you have to attach it to the wall, to stand it up.

Eww corded… for this price you could find a quality refurbished Dyson if this kinda vac is what you want

P.S. buydig is shilled like crazy on slickdeals take it for what you will
This was true 2-3 years ago. Dyson refurbs are typically $200+ anymore, $250 being the norm.

Best thing to do actually IMHO is to buy a cordless vac that uses the same batteries as your power tools. My makita vacs are awesome

I thought light weight is way to go but cordless is even more important! Make the investment and switch to cordless and light weight. You will thank me

Interesting:

Maintaining silk carpets and rugs
You should vacuum silk carpets frequently, picking up dirt before it can be ground into the fibres. However, note that you shouldn't use a roller brush or beater at all.

Can this brush/beater be turned off?

I'm pretty sure i have this exact same vacuum just older. You remove the vacuum body (the handle with the basket) and it has a slot for you to hook it to the base of the neck that connects to the bottom portion. I do not hang mine on the wall to stand it up.

EDIT - what i described above is also in the listing if you look in the photos. Wall hanger is not needed.

Mine also had come with a fabric attachment with soft felt brushes for furniture. looks like this does not.

You'd have to be invested in a battery system whose manufacturer offers a vacuum that isn't horrible.
Best thing to do actually IMHO is to buy or obtain for free a used Dyson v8 from someone that has a battery that no longer charges. Then buy the adapter to allow you to plug in your ___ tool system battery. Ideally Kobalt since it is 24v but my 18v Bosch batteries work just fine with my Dyson.
