Looking for a good monitor to play diablo 4 and hogwarts legacy on. Should I get this VA monitor or get and IPS or TN? I'm a little fuzzy on the differences.

Also, what is the 4ms(MPRT 1ms) about. Which is it?

IPS > VA > TN for color clarity.

Is it 165hz refresh rate or 144hz refresh rate? Because on the Monoprice site I only see 144hz but 165hz on Target and Amazon

Just an FYI Monoprice customer service is terrible. I lost the special bracket that allows the 35" inch curved monitor I bought from them to use a VESA mount and I cannot buy it anywhere. Kinda of disappointing this day in age when the manufacturer doesn't even have the parts available.
I finally found someone on eBay selling one for parts and just bought it but man it shouldn't have to be so much work.

I have this monitor and haven't been disappointed. Purchased for $354. It's great for work and gaming. I've used other 2k IPS monitors with better clarity and colors, but this monitor for the money is better value for the average user imo. I don't think anyone will be disappointed unless you get a defective monitor.

Possibly both, I feel like a lot of people don't know this but it's possible & easy (when possible) to overclock a monitor's refresh rate.

And while I'd like to know the answer before buying one, honestly I don't care so much if it's 144 or 165. Once you're at 144hrz you're already likely tied with or better off than everyone else playing.

Someone on the Monoprice site asked about the refresh rate and this was the reply "DisplayPort max refresh is 144 Hz. HDMI max refresh is 100 Hz."

Still seems like a great monitor regardless

165hz model, the other listings just havent accounted for the samsung to CSOT panel specs. 165hz is the model you are getting, slightly less vibrant, a pretty amazing value given the price.

I am looking for a 2K 34"Ultrawide for my DAW that is affordable. I don't care about gaming, refresh rates, cured vs flat, USB C connections or even super accurate colors. I guess the search continues. Anything over $300 seems too much

monitor prices are fluctuating every day. the 34 lg wqhd i bought last week for 299 is now 499. samsung that was 449 is now 549. just keep watching best buy every day and you'll find one below 300 pretty soon. thats what i did.

My monoprice 35" I bought about 2 years ago has everything needed to mount to a VESA mount, which I did almost instantly because the stand for it is not great.

Just take off the stand attachment, and it's a VESA mount behind there. I have mine mounted vertically with a 28" curved screen above it. Great WFH setup.

I don't think this one has HDR support, for those wondering or looking for the feature. Just a heads up.
