Note that these are the cheaper ones, not those [homedepot.com] that did really well in the Project Farm test [youtube.com]. While these are made in China the better one's are from Taiwan and Milwaukee's Wisconsin hand tool factory should be producing new drivers sometime this year.

Edit: Since it's been brought up a few times, the Project Farm guy incorrectly states that the set he tested is Chinese when they are actually from Taiwan. See proof further down in the discussion...

Ruralking has this for $19.95 if you're near them. A few other prices here and there; $25 seems about the norm for most right now; thanks for posting. Didn't immediately see it on Amazon.

The reality for me is that if I buy these, I'm still going to grab my "favorite" screwdriver about 80% of the time and then my favorite ratchet the other 20%. They would look nice hanging on my tool wall though. Big Grin

I'm doing my first carb rebuild and want a nice screwdriver set. Would you recommend either Milwaukee set?

I rebuilt my snowblower carb but stripped the pilot jet because I didn't have the correct tool, so I had to buy an aftermarket carb to fix the surging problem. Depends on what you are working on, your carb may need a different tool.

The type of test that YouTube video put the screwdrivers through is far more than most non-professionals would ever put their tools through in years (decades?) of work. Among so many other questions about the video, the torque a human can put on the bits is vastly different from the torque and power a power driver will put on the bits. I question why "Up to 1000 pounds of pressure before the tool bends!" is an interesting or important review criteria.

I don't disagree with his methods entirely, I just think most non-pros won't reach that level of wear and stress on bits for decades.

For a typical garage mechanic, any of the reviewed tools would probably be fine. For someone with a little extra money, sure, get the Wiha; if you'd rather save money, the Craftsman. If you like having matching red in your garage, the Milwaukee.

In the before times, Craftsman was fantastic because if a tool ever did wear, one could walk into a nearby Sears for a replacement in seconds. Now, Craftsman's policy isn't as dead-simple. "Return to any retail partner" isn't as nice as "Return to any Sears, where they're all already familiar with the policies."
