Not that great. Got the base + 3 ft extension from Amazon on sale for $122 in august. Also note this is gradient, which means you choose 3 colors and it blends between them. There is a limit on what the center color can be based on the color you start with. The TV ones do not have this limitation but are more $$$

Not that great. Got the base + 3 ft extension from Amazon on sale for $122 in august. Also note this is gradient, which means you choose 3 colors and it blends between them. There is a limit on what the center color can be based on the color you start with. The TV ones do not have this limitation but are more $$$

This can be used to backlight your monitor. Install the free hue sync app and instant immersion for games. I love it.

Are you sure about Hue Play? I found this in the web saying it is single color only: "The Philips Hue Play Gradient LightStrip does not have Bluetooth and must be connected via a Hue bridge, using it as a normal lightstrip the light can only be one color, just like the current lightstrip."

EDIT: Never mind. I found different article saying Philips did some upgrades and updates and it is now possible.

The only thing is you cannot cut it or add any extensions.

You absolutely can cut/extend this one up to 32ft (~9m), according to the Amazon product pictures and description.

It absolutely blends between the points. There's a festive scene specifically that does this.Blue > Purple > Magenta > Red > Orange > Yellow > Green

Can this be added to an existing TV gradient light system? The TV Gradient only covers 3 sides and i was looking to add this to the bottom. Would that work?

no. it doesn't work. you need to get the gradient light tube to put in the bottom

Or any single color option. I almost prefer using 2 play bars for any of the edges over the Gradient strips. I bought all of my hue equipment second hand, so the most painful part of the process is mounting the hardware as I don't have the corner Mount things. Surprisingly difficult task. Anyway, for the most part you'd be surprised how negligible the bottom surface of the screen is. I guess on account of(typically) the lack of visible wall underneath a tv screen.

Basically if you're not getting the products for free, I would recommend any product of the Gradients for the bottom
