The roku version does not seem to support playback from the SD card in the App:

That is probably a deal breaker unless you want to pay for their yearly subscription.

Yes, from what I've read though they aren't compatible with each other's app.

Apparently their respective apps require whitelisted MACs, so you can't cross-flash them.

And Wyze is just rebranded Xiaomii
Might not be a total rebrand. I believe they share the same hardware manufacturer but each uses different firmware and may have different components inside.

Can you view these on your… Roku streaming stick, for example?

Edit: Nvm, see the earlier post:

"Yes they can be viewed on all newer roku tvs and devices."

Is there a list anywhere, of which Roku TVs/devices are new enough to be able to view these cameras?

It's funny that the people who usually bash products like Roku are the ones who are the least technical, like this goober. They heard the 19 year old associate at Best Buy say something, and now they're going to parrot it to anyone who will listen, like my 75 year old aunt who thinks her point and shoot camera is better than a DSLR because "it has moar megapixels".

Not all technology needs to be complicated. Roku is great because it's simple to use and has a rock solid OS that anyone can understand.

I'm more technical than most (run a team of engineers at a very famous tech company) and I recommend Roku TVs to everyone who asks because I know it's going to meet their needs and they won't be calling me up every week when something crashes or some app isn't compatible with some other software.

But yeah, keep giving us your uneducated hot takes.

You get a free camera in their TVs. Just can't see what it is recording.
Which ones ?

I stay away from Wyze now that they took away the free notification clip. Yi Home (is that the same as xiaomi?) short clip notification is still free.

The Wyze 3 cameras are good with good night vision. But still very difficult to clearly make out the faces of people / number plates recorded on them. May require a 2k or 4K camera.

Any recommendations on such cameras which are reasonably priced?
