This reminds me of the old Nintendo Cartridges that held what, 1 MB of memory.

Tempted to use one of these, or one like it, on a PC that doesn't have M.2 slots but does have an extra PCIe x 16 that could be used with an adapter, but I'm not sure that I want to take the risk that it won't work.

No possibility of a BIOS update, but also no need to boot from this new drive, either, just used as a secondary.

Of course, I could just get the SATA version of this, which definitely would work, but I like to have an eye toward the next system, where an M.2 would make more sense.

I thought the purpose of solid state drive is for them to be nearly instantaneous on data transfer? Are there any good deals on ones that are compatible with ps5? Thanks for the warning on this one!
That IS gen 4

NO it too slow for ps5
Speed isn't the issue with PS5 compatibility, if it is a gen 4 drive it will work and if it is not a gen 4 drive it will not work.

no QLC slower drive with no DRAM only HBM [tomshardware.com]. 850X is 7000MBs TLC Drive with DRAM
