Misleading on the battery type.

The instructions [media-amazon.com] and website says it takes a 2032 button cell battery.

The picture shows 2 x AAA batteries.

Unless things have changed this model should be the button cell battery only:

I would distinguish this from a different model I actually own, which does indeed use a couple of AAA batteries:

The values vary significantly (although it looks popular based on the reviews), so I hope to switch to ear thermometer.

I haven't really tested my Braun versus a traditional thermometer. I actually used to use a forehead thermometer because it was the model used by the local pediatrician's office and when I was in the market for a replacement I chose the Braun Thermoscan based upon what the local pediatrician was using. Seemed like a good policy given that they're going to base a lot of their actions on the reading.

To the credit of the Braun, it has had a very long service life so far. The covers used by Thermoscan were unobtainium for a bit during COVID. Otherwise I'd note that I've never gotten any wildly unbelievable results nor have I had the challenges I did with getting a reading using a forehead thermometer.

Ear thermometer is more accurate as I remember, it does show higher temperature as it measures it in the ear, just to know. Had many over the years and wasn't happy with temporal ones or other types (always had to use mercury one to double check digital termometer). Finally got more expensive one with baby in the home, its much more accurate and easy to use: Braun ThermoScan 7. You can find different brand for replaceable ear caps, much cheaper.
