Further, there has been zero firmware updates and the LG Soundbar App is so finicky, would not always recognize the connection and you have to reset to reconnect the soundbar - you can read up on this on the play/apple store, with all the reviews mostly 1 out of 5 stars.
Highly recommend against this system. Feel free to try for yourself, but you will experience all of the above as mentioned.

I know this is supposed to be mounted underneath the TV. What if I mount it above it, two feet above ear level?

If you have totaltech, worth buying here instead Of Amazon too, you get the 60 day return if you don't like it, 2 year warranty, etc. although this is easy to install, would have liked to see an free installation service for it like on just about anything else I buy.
On a side note, the total tech membership may not be for some, but if you buy a few things that need installation services, it easily pays itself off. For example, buy a tv and need it mounted, no brainer to get total tech membership for a year for $50 more. I've had them come back to redo an installation because I didn't like it, and they do it free of charge. It it very beneficial to have it if you much even a few Items from them in a year.
Plus you get apple care and premium warranty. Amazing service.
However I guess at 200+tax this still slaughters most entry level bars.
