Reward points change:
The second change is that on February 14, 2023, earning points on eligible Best Buy purchases will become an exclusive benefit of the My Best Buy® Credit Card.
I know that sucks! But tbh I feel like I barely get rewards as a non credit card holder but I personally feel as if free shipping offsets it.
Yes.

This is actually a winner for those who DONT regularly shop there. They even get to save more $ on the spot as a perk versus needing to spend $250 to get a measly perk of $5 reward certificate.

Immediate dividend is what I'm talking about.

Good to know. Thanks.

This will come in handy since the last Best Buy near my house closed last year. A few years ago I had 3 Best Buys nearby. All gone.
Damn where at?

Actually, you cannot spend a RZ certificate for less than its amount meaning you can't get a sub-$5 item for free because you can't spend less than $5 pre-tax. While I'm Elite Plus and bank my points, I had a $50 RZ cert they issued for meeting a credit card deal that was about to expire and I had to mess around with trying to find the cheapest thing I'd actually use to get me over the limit. (Ended up buying a Criterion Blu-ray, a PC game, and a pair of USB-A to USB-C adapter cables.) I suspect the reason is that because they calculate sales tax AFTER the discount*, they forbid being in negative figures or allowing users to forfeit the balance.

*e.g. If you buy something for $6 and apply a $5 RZ cert you pay tax on the $1 remainder. If you have a big RZ cert, that can save a lot. When the Star Wars 4K box set came out, I had $195 in RZ to use or lose so my out of pocket cost was less than $60 and I saved nearly $12 in sales tax in the process.
Yep, ended up getting x4 D Batteries for $1.06 after tax. Considering these typically go for $15 to $20 on Amazon, I'd say a good deal. Needed them for my Auto-Lid Opening Trash Bins. Applause

Geek Squad is the biggest joke ever. I went to my local BB for an item and they don't even have people to check you out. They want you to pay via their app.
I would always get the GS warranty for headphones and always had a new pair before warranty ended

Wake me up when they ship TVs without $150 delivery fee
Time To Wake Up!!
They shipped & delivered my 85" last month for only $50. It was Best Buy delivering it, not UPS, FedEx, or a 3rd party shipper. And I'm in the boonies! Just about an hour from their closest store.

Peace

I just received an email from Best Buy stating that all My Best Buy Rewards members now get free shipping on all items with no minimum purchase required.

The email also said that on February 14th, 2023, My Best Buy Rewards members will no longer earn rewards points unless they have the My Best Buy® Credit Card.

Existing members with rewards points have until February 14th to sign up for the credit card or their remaining points will be automatically be converted into a gift certificate that will expire 60 days from the program change date (Feb 14). They are offering a sign up bonus of earning 10% back on purchases and a $100 reward certificate when you sign up, get approved, and spend $100 on the card.

Just another way to jip us out of reward points. I was getting a few hundred dollars a year on elite plus and now nothing. The company is going south I tell you.

I used to use my business card to pay for BB purchases since they were all electronics for the business. The point rewards were a nice thing but now I'm not sure it's worth shopping there.

Seems like Microcenter will be my permanent replacement for BB for computer stuff.

They really screwed the Elite Plus members, I stopped buying from them when they added shipping costs, did only pickup.
I feel the same way. How about the fact that I qualified for the 2023 elite plus early in 2022 and they just decide to remove it lol

that's fine. I'd give them at least a week.
I checked member offers and the 25 points per review is still there and the T&C says:

Terms and Conditions
25 points per approved and published review when you provide a valid My Best Buy member number. Maximum of 8 reviews (total 200 points) will be awarded per calendar year per member. Please allow 20 days for your points to appear on your account. Subject to full My Best Buy program terms.

I will take a screenshot of that and make sure I get the points before February 1st. If I don't get the points in 2 weeks I may consider contacting them...but not sure if the time is worth the $5.....
