I know that sucks! But tbh I feel like I barely get rewards as a non credit card holder but I personally feel as if free shipping offsets it.

Yes.

This is actually a winner for those who DONT regularly shop there. They even get to save more $ on the spot as a perk versus needing to spend $250 to get a measly perk of $5 reward certificate.

Immediate dividend is what I'm talking about.

IKR? People seem to forget elite members got free shipping plus double points on purchases. Now we get zero points and free shipping under $35. SUCH OFFER.
We also got same day delivery, not just free shipping.

Can this free shipping policy last longer if people such as just place an order of a battery to ship to home?

Let's be honest. I can't think of any store that still remains that is offering the perks that Best Buy was. It was fun while it lasted. Amazon and Target don't have any perks.
You can get a Target Red Debit card (without a credit check) and save 5% on every purchase. The card is linked to your checking account and they just withdraw your purchase amounts using ACH.

So they realized that making people pay for shipping killed their sales, so they are paying for shipping by not offering BB reward points anymore... fair, but cheap. Bring back the tiers, the birthday 10%, and the priority lane for customer support and "elite" status... these changes are just big box stores slowly dying, and the fact that they are happening so quickly is writing on the wall that things aren't going so well at Best Buy. Does anyone remember Shop Your Way rewards? Kmart and Sears's last hurrah before they bellied up and died.

Actually I think BBY is adjusting better than Gamestop....
Gamestop increased the minimum purchase required for free shipping several times.... rarely inform members when they have sales and like to ship items from several different stores using separate boxes (lots of added costs.)
Though I agree with you, I miss the Best Buy Elite program and that actually gave me incentives to spend more at BBY when I need something. With the elite program busted BBY basically has to always compete on prices and product availability. It's hard to beat Amazon on those as Amazon can survive on a tiny margin with massive volumes and membership fees.

Best Buy has become worse and worse as far as their customer service is concerned. This was the same company that obligated it's customers to buy total tech in order to have the "right" to purchase a PS5. In the end their rewards program was offset by target's 5% discount for red card members. Don't be shocked if Best Buy doesn't last much longer in retail. I have no reason to shop there and most likely never will.

Its not so much them trying to devalue and cut off the fat, but rather some dopey board members trying to find new revenue streams. They see what Amazon has, and what Walmart tried, monetizing certain features of their services and being immensely profitable (although I don't think Walmart is experiencing the same profits as Amazon - why else would they offer 50% off a year of Walmart+? Gotta draw in new customers).

Most of Best Buy sales is as a result of loyalty. Where should I buy an Apple iPad? Apple store for full price, Amazon/Target/Walmart for $40 discount, or Best Buy for the same $40 discount? I'll take Best Buy because of the points.

Remove that incentive and people look elsewhere, as I have now many times.

I agree, although their stock says otherwise. They beat on their Q4 earnings report, and now the street expects a huge increase in EPS for Q1. Yeah the SP is down from over 100 in 2021, but then again all companies are (that's what happens when you infuse a lot of cash and then take it out. Thanks JPow!).

They cancelled my 3.99 open box order and now it's available again but at 4.99.
