1-star Review by "BrokenTools":
I agree with the one-star reviews. This tool is flimsy crap. It is but a humble hand tool. This humble $5 hand tool can be fixed and be made more worthy. All it takes is an additional 3/4" #10 machine screw, and a nut. Take it apart, as if you were going to replace the head with one of the auxiliaries (the extra, or spare). Replace the center pin with a nut and bolt. You need a #10 machine screw, at least 3/4 of an inch length. I re-used the spring, but it could be optional. Another improvement might be a rubber washer on the backside with the nut. Tighten appropriately, but not too tight. The spring-loaded quick-change pin is useless, pointless, worthless. Trash it. This fancy piece of crap is the weakest point of the tool. Tools should be functional, not fancy. It deserves 3 or 4 stars. But I thought I'd throw the DIY upgrade/repair instructions down in the 1-star section for cynical people like me who have their doubts and check the 1-star reviews first. My first HF review. Thanks for reading.

Ah yes, everybody's first snap ring pliers. To be quickly replaced by something better because they are so darn frustrating and inefficient to use.

These are garbage. I bought and immediately returned.

Will not undo most normal strength rings, but will certainly bend and break apart faster than you can say "OH SNAP" (Apologies to Jaime Pressly)

Came to say how terrible these types of snap ring pliers are but apparently they can be made better? Glad to see I'm not the only one that finds these frustrating to use
