Cheaper than a week ago by $50, but a little more expensive than $750 in Q3 2022. I can hold off a bit longer, but I'd jump on it if I was desperate for an upgrade. Comes with 2 free games as well.

When you can get a 7900xt for $880 it doesn't make sense to get the power guzzler from the last generation unless there is a substantial discount. Electricity ain't getting any cheaper 😉
Ok... someone explain to me how anyone could consider this slick.
Again, a 4070ti (which is itself not slick) beats this card in almost all areas of performance and is still cheaper. This would appear to me to be the opposite of a slick deal.

Crazy times mate. I'm hoping the 4070ti, which has been bashed as a price grab by most of the major hardware reviewers, will finally start to pushing GPU pricing back to a reasonable level.
I'd get this instead. The PCB and VRM setup are the best you can get on RDNA2 @Newegg: ASRock OC Formula Radeon RX 6950 XT 16GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Video Card RX6950XT OCF 16G

"Slick" is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone wants a 4070ti.

For what it's worth, I agree that there are better values out there. That doesn't mean this isn't "slick", it just means it isn't a value in my eyes.
I just swapped out my red Devil 6950xt for a 7900xt and glad I did for the performance to cost ratio. My 7900xt also runs cooler and uses less power than my 6950 did. I'm seeing 20 more frames at 4K for the extra 100 and sim odd bucks was worth it to me. My 2 cents here
Some people enjoy paying money for things they want. It's acceptable that other people may want things that I do not.
Yes. This is relevant especially in things where personal taste is far more applicable. However, this is not one of those threads.
Commonly, in the GPU space we tend to base value propositions on actual metrics, and tend not to argue the value proposition merely on the non-technologically based whims of the individual user.
