I highly recommend this. It's one of the best things I own in 4k. The colors and detail are absolutely mind-blowing: close-ups of oceanic feeding frenzies, volcanoes, Amazonian ants that link up to form a living Noah's Ark for themselves. I've watched this multiple times with the whole family (1yo, 4yo, 6yo) and it's amazingly educational while entertaining.

Attenborough is a big proponent of mitigating climate change. It's not a lecture on climate change, it's reality, and it's only about 5 minutes at the end of each episode.

It is a great disc to pick up.

I was looking at this one. I literally just bought Planet Earth II/ Blue Planet II combo 4K Blu-ray one day ago. Seems like a good price. I hear this is some of the best stuff you can watch on 4K. No reason not to buy more.

The format isn't labeled 4K. But Blu-ray. I hope that's not a sign that it has the wrong image.

4K blu-ray is not a choice. Only blu-ray and dvd as choices. The description is "Perfect Planet (UHD/BD)
]]>", so it appears to be both 4k and 1080 blu-ray.

From what I've read in the reviews, there is too much lecturing about climate change and not enough spent on plants and animals. Is there a better Planet Earth version that focuses on plants and animals?

The back of the package says 4K 250 minutes, and Blu-ray 300 min. Kind of a disingenuous way of coming up with 10 hours of run time, isn't it?

sounds like environmental propaganda
Not sure if this is a joke but all the latest Attenborough docs are steeped in climate change flagellation. I wish he would just put out a documentary about nature that doesn't try to make me feel bad for being a human being. I'm not a climate change denier. I support efforts to slow and reverse the effects we've had on nature but there is only so much I can do about it and what he and many others don't seem to understand is that the message has been reached by everyone it can reach at this point. Continuing to make people feel bad will only serve to have the reverse effect. The original Planet Earth series left me and millions of other people in awe of nature. It was awe inspiring from start to finish. The latest docs are a constant emotional swing from awe to sadness in every scene. Somehow I'm watching some of the greatest content in one of my favorite genres on a 4k OLED TV and I'm left feeling meh about it at the end to the point where I'm starting to skip over nature docs when I would've hit play every time a new one dropped. That's the effect this kind of thing has.
