This setup is the best price since BF21. The problem is that small size barely fits a battery and the "large", which is really a medium, struggles with larger tool. My order back in Dec '21 was cancelled by HD when I went to pick it up as they didnt have the roller box in stock. This was a blessing. I ended up getting the Roller box and the XL sized box online that year. A far better storage solution for their larger cordless tools.
The flyers that they mail to me all the time I have read don't go to everyone for some reason, but if you have a Home Depot credit card the code should work one time per account I believe. Give it a try and let me know if it works please: 7H6RH6J7

What? I fit a charger, 2 powerstack Batts, inpact, drill/driver in the small case and I left the 2 insert they put in there. It's not that small
No. That's not compatible with either tuffsystem or tstack. It's a good box though.
Thank you for confirming. Yea Ive given that set to a few people now as gifts and they love them. Thinking about the setup in this OP for my dad to migrate him off the various soft tool bags hes been using for years and was hoping this setup might work with the storage cases. Not critical, just would have been nice.

I am glad it works for you. I should clarify with the "small" I am referring to the height of the tools. Sure a drill can fit. I guess everybody has their own use case and for me it seemed like a waste to get a "small" chest in the combo when I didn't think I could use it.
With the small, It didn't appear that a sander could fit, or grinder, or recip saw. You would need the large for that. But even with the "large" could you really get a circular saw AND use the drop in trays WITH another odd shaped tool? It didn't appear to me to be the case. That is why I went with the XL size.
Thanks for properly informing myself and the rest of what can actually fit in the small case.
This setup is currently out of stock so you may need to keep checking or check your local stores. This and the $178 shallow tray setup constantly go out of stock so just keep checking.

Soft tool bags have their place. Hard boxes are unbeatable when it comes to protection and stacking... But there is definitely more wasted space. Some items just don't fit very well.
