Heads-up for anyone buying the chocolates. I bought the liqueur and raspberry flavored back on 1/6. It was finally shipped yesterday, but my order now says that I bought walnut and caramel. Take screenshots of what you buy in case you don't get what you ordered and want to return it.

One great thing about Macy's website: It's easy to find a filler!

Click on SALE at the top and then go into the PRICE filter along the side and put in a custom price range (say, 1 to 2 dollars) for what you need to get free shipping.

Yep, got a bunch last year and they are not near as close to what they used to be. There is a huge history of Frangos Chicago vs. Seattle (Marshall Fields, Bon Marche), but looks like low quality won out in the end. I think there might still be a local shop in Seattle that sells the recipe from that area.

I was quite surprised by the quality of the Kirkland boxes this year, and removing the outer packaging also removes all branding so it really presented well as a gift.

They were very good. I sampled them a few times in store and was impressed for the $.

We got a box of the fudge for Christmas. Expiration date is 6/23. It was white from age, hard as a rock, and only a few tiny pieces of walnuts that I could find. Had a weird taste that wasn't like real dark chocolate. In the trash it went.

Russell Stover was much better 6-7 years ago, acceptable for the price, but still not super high quality. Bought some a few years ago and it had changed dramatically - pretty much low end garbage now.

Someone mentioned expiration date, looked at the Stonewall kitchen preserves I have at home-there is an expiration date in the side label of the jar.

Mixed nuts are nice, only 20 cents less per pound than Costco though

The fruitcake should last a few years!!

Frangos are among the best, unless you get the Chicago ripoffs.
