Aww man. So wish this was 2k. 1080 @ 34" looks like butt.
I guess I could correct you........ But why bother this happens in every monitor thread with one of these. I have one of these not this exact model but the 2560x1080 ultra wide IPS and it's nice It doesn't look like butt.

Same. I just got a 32" panel that is 1080, and lots of slickdeals comments were warning against it due to resolution, but I've very happy w/ it. Maybe my eyes aren't as good, or I just have no idea what the difference would be. Either way, don't care, I like what I got.

just curious, how does the small text look in 1080p on this form factor? trying to buy a work monitor
Yes, I ment 1440p thank you. I was able to snag one of the ultrawide samsungs from the Walmart deal floating around. I would much rather have an LG but the higher resolution at the same price was just too tempting. 🫤 hopefully I won't have the power cycle/sleep issues I have been reading about with the sammy.

I'm not usually a graphics snob. 1080p gaming on a big screen isn't an issue for me. But I got a 27" Dell that is 1080p. I used it for working from home.
Without trying even to analyze it, my brain went "this seems kinda fuzzy". It could be that the Dell I was using wasn't great. By from that one experience, I came to the conclusion that 24" is the largest screen size I want at 1080p. At least for a computer monitor where the crispness of things like text matters so much. (FYI, 24" equates to a 29" ultrawide. 27" would be similar to a 34" ultrawide.)
For comparison, I find I need to scale down a 32" UHD/4k monitor in Windows for office work. Those pixels are kind of wasted to an extent. So for me personally, I aim for 1440p for 27" to 32" 16:9 monitors. Any resolution above that is fine. But it's not worth paying extra for.
This just is a sample size of one. And just in the context of using mostly Office 365 tools, text editors, and web browsers. Not for gaming.

Agreed. I have a 1440p wqhd but always find the text tiny for my older eyes. I change the resolution to 1260 or 1080 on my mac to make the size manageable.
What people always seem to miss about this is the screens height is the same as a 27-in monitor and then since it's ultra wide it has the 2560 width not 1920 so it's essentially like having a wider 27-in 1080p monitor if that makes sense and if it doesn't IDC lol
