100% this. I like this system's parts boxes, especially the ones with clear lids. But these wheelie bins and even the medium size bins are just not worth their size and bulk for pure storage. Big bulky lids, and medium lid isn't removable, so I feel like it's often in the way.

But yeah, for loading batteries and tool bags and moving that stuff, these are great for that.

Personally I do not like to stack boxes etc as it never fails I need something out of the bottom box.

I use the black and yellow storage bins from Costco, both the mid size and large size and put them on a rolling wire rack, also from Costco. I am switching to clear boxes to make it faster/easier to locate tools even though I do label the boxes. A neighbor uses wire shelving mounted to a garage wall and medium size clear boxes/totes and I like being able to see even though it is not as "neat" looking.

Over a work table, I made a plywood rack that lets me slid each drill/impact into a slot for storage and I made a couple shelves above the tool holders for the batteries and chargers.

I've been holding out on this one since the holidays I needed more organization compartments and pockets. So I went with a smaller 14 inch Husky rolling tool bag instead as my regular use bag. But I can use this to store my less used tools.

Just picked one up from HD store yesterday, not very thrilled with the 2.0 design. 1.0 is unfortunately out of stock in most places as they are trying to "upgrade" their design. The non-telescoping wheel handle is kind of a pain in the butt. I transfer boxes from one job site to another and now have to detach wheel every time to make it fit my car instead of the original design.

I have been thinking of something like this for carrying stuff back and forth to work. My work has just gone hybrid and no assigned desks. So we are "hoteling" and I want a way to bring in my computer, a bottle of water, etc. But this might be overkill.

I was thinking of using this to bring company event materials plus the medium box should be more than enough. Just have make sure I take out the tools (like hammer and drill) before taking this out for events other people will that I am going Postal.

Last time I checked Gen 1 was available for order HD online. Some HD have Gen 1 parked next to Gen 2 in the store. I own both Gen 1 + 2 and have no complaints with each version. Gen 1 has the removable cover and telescoping handle while Gen 2 corrects the loose feeling handle and fixed cover. Try FB or CL or ebay for a Gen 1 as there may be others that want to trade up for Gen 2
