Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Thank you OP. This post should be awarded the best slickdeal post 👍. Thousands of dollars savings and many peoples dream car who could not buy it due to its outrageous price.

Unfortunately I brought both Tesla S and model Y at full price and no tax incentives last year!

If you are looking for Y or 3, jump in by all means.
Sure I will get right on that. How much stock do you have in Tesla?

It says credit is "in effect until March 2023". Does that mean you have to physically receive your car by then?

But don't the batteries cost up to $20,000 to replace? So I guess it's better to sell the vehicle maybe after 6 years or so while still plenty of battery life left?
cars depreciate more than 20k over 6 years at this price bracket.. battery warranty is 8 year/100k standard industry now..

yes it does.. ex.. agi is 500k... donate enough to hit under 300k.. then again.. if you're over 300k.. are u really crying over 7500 tax credit? just saying
I live on Long Island, NY so I can still cry since everything else here is super expensive. $7,500 would pay about 1/2 my years property tax so looking for all the help I can get - lol! But thanks for the info.

FOR NJ, I think this should qualify for a 2K incentive at the point-of-sale.

Isn't this for purchases made before 31st Dec 2022

3 series and a electric car are not comparable. Go back to sleep.
?? The price points are comparable and it is a direct competitor to the Model 3...The insurance is cheaper on a 3 series.

the tesla driving experience, day to day, is so much better than anything available in the general car market it's actually commendable for such a new brand. and quite funny to read the comments from non owners.

i've owned the best foreign cars, and love to trade up--and i actively look for something other than my m3p, and there's just nothing out there. monthly updates? 0-60 in 3 seconds? 300 mile range? fun AF to drive?

has anyone actually owned a tesla, went back to a "german lux brand" and thought oh baby i'm back in my old tech, alright! and finally traffic can keep up with me! let me warm this sucker up first though and turn this idrive dial to find a radio station. the line to get costco gas isn't too bad today i'm only 3 cars deep.

can you also burn me some netscape navigator i can't download it my mom's on the phone

yeah, that or before IRS publishes guideline for battery component.

or Tesla to re-work Model Y 5 seater to make it compliant as SUV, then it might raise price.
