Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

The $55k cap is the MSRP only and excludes destination charge and any fees. It does include any options.

To be clear- is includes from-the-factory hardware options (paint, wheels)-- it does not include software options (like EAP or FSD)

are you looking at the new order page (where it is $52,990) or at the inventory page (where it might be showing you already build cars priced with options already on them?)

https://www.tesla.com/modely/design#overview

That link there should show $52,990

Federal Tax Credit limit (AGI) is definitely low for most Bay Area folks. Fed must take into consideration the cost of living index as well.
Yeah why even have a max income limit anyways? Does the person making 200K not deserve to save a few bucks on their taxes versus than someone making less?

Yep. Tesla fanboy kool aid is real spicy.
Tesla Owner Satisfaction is some of the highest, if not the highest, in the industry.
All those owners are "fanboys" I suppose.

Not everyone is as smart as you. Some people makes $60K and buy $100K car and a $1M dollar house. That is what credit and mortgage is for. Welcome to America.

Highly recommend if you're considering a Tesla (or any car for that matter) that you rent one for a week or two and make sure you like it. Personally did this with a Tesla in the past and I'm glad I did, because it just wasn't the car for me I decided.

Honestly I'm shocked folks make such a big purchase like a car with just a single test drive, or in the case of Tesla's that you might order online, no test drive at all! Make sure you really like the car, rent one for a couple weeks and see how it feels!
That's just common sense for every car purchase.

I thought about it for a bit, and decided that given the trajectory the company might not be there in a few years to provide service and support. No thanks.
Average 50% sales growth for almost a decade? That trajectory?

Record profits quarter after quarter? That trajectory?

Gross auto margins 3-5 times higher than the rest of the industry? That trajectory?

Total debt near zero compared to tens of billions in the rest of the industry? That trajectory?

Quick clarification- without connectivity subscription the nav still has, and uses, realtime traffic to route you-- but it won't DISPLAY the traffic data on the map

Hope everyone realizes that the current price is higher than the 2021 sticker price . Making this FP was a moronic move by the SD staff
You forgot about inflation

I'm seeing it now again on a different page. Odd
I think you're looking at inventory available for sale immediately. If you custom order, then the base price is $52990. I'm looking from Dallas, TX.

Wasn't there something about taking $7500 off instantly instead of doing it through Federal taxes?

Can anyone tell me how can the price of Model Y be below 55k. I am based on Seattle and the minimum price for Model Y is $55,990.
Opting for the 7 seat option bumps the msrp limit up to $80,000. I think someone was saying that option costs $4,000.

Current situations don't care about history. The stock price is plunging, it'll no longer be valued as a tech company, the autopilot isn't getting particularly good reviews, they're slashing prices to try and clear inventory and the company owner just turned every Tesla into a big red hat.

That trajectory. In other news, weird nerds defending Elmo are a dime a dozen.
