Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Going on a test drive today for the model y. Haven't decided on 5 or 7 seats but did get pre-approved with Penfed but think I could find another bank that offers lower. I do have a few questions if any of you are willing to truly help with.
Once I order the Tesla I want which will be financed by my bank which option am I choosing on Tesla's website(cash, financing, loan)?

Is it best to custom to get it cheaper and with what features?

Is the white interior easy to clean?
I have many more questions but I am reading through theses posts but the insults are just taking away from what those of use are trying to doing. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks

They are probably too lazy to walk

I saw an electric bike on clearance at Costco for $999

Probably cheapest mode of transportation without spending your own energy

I bank with PenFed and seen their interest rates were higher than expected. I didn't call, just seen it on the website. What rate did you see at Pen Fed? Thanks

If people here are considering buying a Tesla, don't overlook registration and insurance costs in your monthly calculations. Both are reasonably higher compared to regular cars. Plus there are higher interest rates - but those apply to any car I guess. Higher the price, higher the payment.

Glad I got my hybrid well before this madness started.

Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum. After tax credit, the Model Y will be cheaper. Although, the Highlander has a bit more extra features (some of which I don't really know if I will really need)
Highlander Hybrid needs to go prime and be avail. nationwide unlike the current 10 avail. nationwide. Toyota really dropped the ball on PH EV after inventing the market with Prius. I think intentionally due to their cautious attitude.

Lol no offense but you might be the first person I've ever heard prefers CRV over Tesla. I'm not even sure how these 2 cars are comparable. Did you even test drive or sit in Tesla before you buy? No tilt display or no CarPlay is not something new. Like should be immediately obvious if you sat in one before you bought. Does your CRV have side camera?
Besides it being an EV, what are the top 5 things that impress you about your model Y?

Model 3 and Model Y were previously disqualified from the $2000 CA CVRP rebate due to them exceeding the 45K and 60K price limits respectively. Now that they are well within the price ranges, anyone know CVRP will reconsider giving Tesla vehicles the rebate?

Source of information: Can I apply for a rebate for my Tesla Model 3 or Tesla Model Y? | Clean Vehicle Rebate Project

I believe CVRP will not start allowing Tesla again. Maybe SDers in CA can petition them?? :-) for an even slicker deal.
It looks like there's a in income limit for the CVRP program as well?

Sucks for anyone that bought in 2022, but Tesla just put pressure on everyone to lower new and used car prices.
