Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I've been trying to do my own research online to learn more about charging options but am curious about the utility of ordering a mobile charger in addition to a wall connector. Per Tesla's website, all new cars come with a type c/f (220-240 V) adaptor, which offers only 2-3 mi/hr charging but is at least a home charging option until I get an electrician to install the wall connector.

Does also having the mobile charger give you more charging optionality at home or is that just useful when you're out and about? Thanks
Right if you can get a 14-50 240v outlet with mobile connector ($230) for cheaper than wall connector go that route:https://youtu.be/gVG7di9gFQc

I think you got this backwards. The 240v 14-50 should do 30 miles per hour
The standard outlet 15-15 120v does 6 miles an hour charge for model 3.

Ok. Thanks. Pretty rude to make that comment. My wife and I make $110k combined. We have some savings and would like a nice car. But your comment is demoralizing. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.
haha..seriously? You own a home? Credit card debt? Other debt? Dave Ramsey would have a hay day with you.

There is no way you make $110k combined and don't have $7500 tax liability before child tax credits, withholding, etc. You should qualify for the rebate. I would check your 1040 again.
It is possible. Both partners contributing 20k each to 401k + medical, dental, and vision insurance + FICA + contribution to HSA, etc. can easily amount to ~55k, if one intends to. The remaining 55k would fall in 12% tax bracket, well under $7500.

Maybe I've missed it, but haven't found many comments about the Y performance model. Does that qualify for the credit?

So what is the month and interest rate you getting? They make it confusing with all the deductions. I submitted an app for both CU to be safe.
Just submitted for Gcfu too
