Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

They haven't even release the model Y with that battery yet. So op wouldn't even be able to get the car right now in the first place.

No they are not. Where did you get this?

Go test drive the latest, refreshed Model S. I test drove it last month when I visited the Tesla sales center and was very impressed how the interior has improved so much from the prior refresh. Let me know after you test drive the latest Model S and tell me if you still think the quality is still subpar. The performance of Model S blows away BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Lexus.
Let me know when you test drive German vehicle with the same sticker price of the tesla you test drove and come back tell us more stories about who blows what.

right? i spit out some coffee when i read that

and i'm a model Y owner

the biggest issue is the fact that you need to stop n charge for at least 20 minutes, multiple times if it's a long trip. On busy weekends you will need to wait for spots to open up

no point trying to defend that

My father has 2022 Mercedes S580. I drove it when I flew down to Florida to spend Christmas week with my parents. It drives like a heavy, sluggish car that guzzles gas. Driving performance sucks compared to 2022 Model S. Interior was nice but nothing too many buttons on the dash. I would personally buy Model S over Benz S580. Once a driver gets used to instant torque power, driving a gasoline powered car is like driving an outdated color. The delayed response of gasoline powered car is annoying and makes the car feel slow and outdated.

After getting my car, can I trade in and flip it just to get tax credits, the goal is to get $5000 net positive considering depreciation, taxes and fees

youd probably have to keep it for so long to avoid a penalty, just like a house.

Go look at trade quotes for any EV, they have been in a free fall, including Tesla's own cars as its now more beneficial to buy new than used in many cases.

Take the tesla you want to buy and trade and put in fake trade quotes at Carvana, carmax and vroom or even Tesla's own trade in tool, you'll likely see a large loss. I doubt it highly that you make any money here between vehicle tax/various fees and instant trade depreciation.

People have been getting $33-$40k trade in quotes for EV6's they paid $55k for less than 6 months ago. Thats $15k+ of depreciation in less than 6 months.

If you routinely drive > 400mi road trips, def use your 2nd auto, sport. But I think you misunderstand charging convenience. It's called a garage. Many of us RARELY use a supercharger & I personally enjoy stopping a half hour after 2 1/2 half hours behind the wheel. Takes me min 15-20 just to crap (then get a drink) & certain supercharger (road trip) stations have incredibly clean bathrooms. Much further than +1 charge and I'm flying anyway. Smilie

How many days did it take to open the account? And any idea what's the turnaround for loan approval? Hoping all of that could be done in 8-10 days.
