Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Does Tesla offer any kind of wiggle room or discounts if paid in full cash or anything like that? Or is their business model the price you see online is the only price you get?
Hahaha what ? You are not buying tacos

There are a bunch of trolls on this board who think that leather equals luxury.

I leased a couple E350 sedans 15 years ago, which cost about $55K, and they used to have what was called "Mercedes Leather"...basically, Vinyl. In Germany, in the 70s, the S class could be outfitted with Velour (Velvet?)...that was the same price as leather too.

The comments remind me of the scene in "Working Girl" where Joan Cusack sees a pricey dress (skirt?) and comments "It's not even leather"! We are supposed to laugh at her, not with her, in this scene...as she is an unsophisticated Bridge and Tunnel secretary.

Teslas are luxury cars, but they are not luxurious.

Tesla is dumping these cars without ultrasonic sensors as they ready the new hardware suite with hd radar. Will be a lot of sad early production 2023 model Y owners in a few months. Tesla basically just clearancing these out.
if you look at the q4 22 numbers they moved around 130k cars per month or 32k cars per week.

Q4 2022
produced/delivered
Model S/X 20,613 / 17,147
Model 3/Y 419,088 / 388,131 <==
Total 439,701 / 405,278

with the price drop/tax credit, lets say that conservatively those numbers climb by 50%. so that means they would be moving around 48k cars per week or 192k cars per month. with that much volume i hardly would say they're trying to "clearance" out anything. constant changes on a tesla are a given and you will be waiting a long time if you keep holding out for that next new tech.

with regards to ultrasonic sonic sensors, they went all in on tesla vision and said they are working on 'parity' before releasing uss related features (parking/proximity assist) on an over the air update. hd rader is not a replacement for uss and will be used for full self driving software which not many people will ever purchase.

its a good measurement of how fast a car is.. that dude with 72k porsche keeps saying his porsche will outsmoke a 48k tesla 3 performance.
There's more to performance than acceleration. Tesla has acceleration. Great on a dragstrip, but acceleration doesn't help you corner better.

I've driven Tesla 3 and Tesla Y. They're terrific cars, but you don't know what you're talking about if you think that fast acceleration is the only thing that makes a car perform well. Tesla's are boring in the corners. BMW's are way more fun on twisty roads.

I don't know what post upset you, but your reply is incredibly rude and insulting and doesn't even bother to add any factual information to the conversation. Why did you feel the need to lash out?

Highest customer satisfaction is the opposite of 'sad'. The two people in your ZIP code that have a Tesla are not a barometer of customer satisfaction.

Have you seen the new Prius? I guess you have that's why you are so triggered by it.

But you should be happy about it, it will only drive prices of a model 3 down more.

And again, stop spreading lies, it is not $42K.
New Prius is $27,450 LE with 57 city / 56 highway mpg. Prius has more room than the 3 with no planning a road trip around a charger map. They will sell a lot of them.
