Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I have a MYLR VIN assigned for pickup in 2 weeks and I just learned that Teslas don't have:

Blind spot warning & intervention - Generally does not work
Rear pedestrian intervention - No
Rear cross traffic - No

Coming from a Honda Pilot I need these features. I might cancel my order. All this tesla hype yet so far behind. I'll wait to see what my insurance quote is. I did test drive a 2022 MYP but didn't test this stuff. I assumed it did the basic stuff

OK i know no one knows this for 100% sure but what is the general consensus of what "by March" means? The day before March? Mid March? Sometimes in March? End of March? I cannot believe that that the #1 most important information is the actual date when the current 7500 tax credit expires and not one place has a legitimate exact date or what it even means. I have placed a reservation for MYLR on 1/19 EDD says Jan-March as of today.

I am not blaming Tesla for this since they have discounted their vehicles already and they're taking advantage of this hoopla to sell their cars. I get it. It is not fraudulent either but ,at the very least, dishonest.

About what? To keep parroting on their website that the 7,500 credit on qualified cars and buyers if taking "deliveries until March." Since no one bothers to read the fine print, some people see it as that as long as it's during month of March, they will qualify.

That is likely to be incorrect and so many have by then already put their 250 nonrefundable deposits. Another problem is If you have delivery dates shown on the site / app by tesla to be during the month of Feb and your delivery is delayed until March, even by 1 day, that could be a 7500 mistake or at the very least 3750 depending on what the gov decide.

So take a screenshots of your current delivery date if they are in Feb so if you don't take delivery if the car gets delayed, you could maybe a case with the credit card and get the refund back.

I know that Tesla is just copying and pasting what every mindless news sites site wrote but if they practice in good faith, they should maybe put an asterisk on their site next to March* 2023. It likely means until end of February.

Sorry for the rant.
Lets take a step back and think what "Untill 5pm" mean. Does that mean 4:59pm, 5pm, 5:30pm some random time between 5pm and 6pm or 5:59pm? I am using this as a reference and will act conservative untill the people who are supposed to give clear direction(IRS) gives it. Why it is on Tesla?

Dont be sorry completely understand your frustration, and we are all trying to take advantage of the rebate. Well let see right it could be end of march or it could be extended who knows at this point im just happy that i completed all the tasks within the tesla app. I go in every morning hoping i would get a VIN number assigned at the very least.

If i dont get the 7500 ill be okay but it will hurt, i look at it this way i am already in the green with 500 since they increased the price.

I ordered the tesla wall connector for $350 and i noticed they changed the price to 450 now so thats another 100 i saved.
Keep in mind, you'll still be eligible for the $3750 credit.

Thinking about just getting a used one on tesla.com - they are about 38k for the long rangers… any drawbacks?
310mi lithium ion is kind of worse than a standard range LFP cuz you cant charge to 100% everyday

No HW4 upgrade/retrofit for HW3 models - the cost will be very high. CT will get HW4 - but CT volume production is only by next year. No disclosure on any other models getting HW4.
