Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

All. I'm still confused why we have to send a specific power of attorney to get the loan with Tower. Other lenders don't do that. Does anyone else have concerns on having to do a power of attorney for the auto loan?

Or 3 2018 Corollas, or 4 2012 Corollas... or 500 bikes from Walmart. All equally useless comparisons.
these are all terrible alternatives.. walking is better and financially the best option.. doesn't cost anything to walk/charge/fill/maintenance

I've had plenty of lenders ask me for this. It allows them to complete any paperwork with the DMV without involving you anymore. Otherwise, you may need to sign off on the lien to the title and this streamlines that for them. Remember that Tower is a small credit union in MD, so they are most familiar with MD requirements.

Now compare a 2023 Corolla Hybrid at base $23,000 which has more interior room, that gets 54mpg and your numbers fail big time. Fact one could buy two Corolla's for the price of the Tesla 3.
should start an ice corolla deal at msrp thread

Has anyone applied for auto loan and got approved with Tower FCU who is not U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien?
Their website said active military and civilian employees. Civilian citizens and aliens probably don't qualify.
Did you try contacting them?

Yes, they confirmed that only U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien qualify to become member and even to open checking/savings account.

4.99% is what I got, .50 off for being their premium member, and .25 off for buying EV.
I am looking all over for qualifications or requirements for Premium member. I only have maybe $1K in savings there. I do have a loan with them. Is there any charge for being a premium member?
I funded a premium savings account with $1K. Sadly, I see nothing about car loan advantages. Just a bit higher interest rate. When I called PenFed, they said NOTHING
about EV discounts or premium members. Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call later about this. My car still hasn't shown up. I ordered on the 16Th.
