Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Yes. Any Model Y in inventory showing 269mi is an Austin-built with 4680s.

What do you mean? The price is lower than a long range Model Y. I can't see what they're charging today because none are close.

Name another company that hadn't updated their cars in almost a decade and offer 4 versions. I'll wait.

Is this a better option than MY LR? These seem to have induction wheels. I am new to tesla. Why do you thing the price doesn't make sense. I ordered MY LR but the delivery is showing in April/May. Wondering if I should cancel that order and order this one with 269 range

It's not a better option, as I would take the 330 mile range and 4.8 second 0-60 time over this 4680 battery Model Y with 269 mi range and 5 second 0-60 time. With that being said, if my estimated timeline was listed between Apr - May, I'd strongly consider purchasing one of these to take advantage of the EV tax credit. If you don't, someone else will. Just saying. At least you'll be able to say you own a Tesla, and got the EV credit to boot. Best of luck with whatever decision you decide to make.

Thanks. I would probably prefer the longer range as well. I am just hoping that my delivery estimate gets updated and I get the car before the tax credit expires. My understanding is that tesla keeps changing/updating the estimated delivery date
