Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Nope. In fact our registration has a couple hundred added annually for the benefit of owning an EV. You do get to use the hov lane without any passengers though.

Note that is HOV lanes, not toll lanes. While toll lanes give an exemption to those who would qualify for HOV lanes, they are still toll lanes and you don't get to use them for free just because you have an ev.

MPS: 100%
0%? They're popping up all over with people canceling and ordering the MPY. Places all over the country have them available for immediate purchase.

You could be right. However, I have not seen a MYLR popped up since the price increase. They did pop up very often last week.

Seen several today in various locations in the west, but they still go fairly quickly even with the price increase.

MYLR AWD, MSM exterior, Tow hatch - before price hike, VIN assigned and ready to be scheduled for delivery.

But I'm not. Anyone interested please DM me, I can update registration by going into

Start a credit application, and press "Update Registrants" on the following page. I'll be able to make this change there! you can use email id and take it from there.

It's expected to be delivered by Feb 12 to 19, and I haven't submitted any additional info, anyone interested has to schedule delivery before 4 PM EST tomorrow.

-- update: I see someone in my state is looking for one, so mostly will move it to him!

You can't unfortunately. You can decline the VIN once, and you'll be placed back in the queue and be assigned the next available VIN (usually takes only 1-2 weeks). Once you get the new VIN, you have to pick it up essentially within one week or they'll cancel your entire order and you lose your $250. You should be good for near the end of February with just that one delay though.
